Kids + Martial Arts = Discipline
Disciplined Kid + Goals = Success
At Leo Dalla BJJ, we understand how important it is for working parents to find a quality after school program for their children. In our after school program, children are engaged in high quality, structured martial arts, educational, and character development programs. The core of our after school program involves instruction in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which is the most effective form of self-defense in the world. Learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu builds confidence in young children and allows them to concentrate on learning and building social relationships while at school without the fear of being bullied. Likewise, as physical education programs are increasingly being cut back in our schools and children engage in less outdoor play than past generations, the health and wellness benefits that come from the practice of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu cannot be overstated. These include:
In conjunction with our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum, Premier Fight Center has instituted the Six Tasks Character Development Program for children. In this program, children earn merit badges as part of a character-building, rite-of-passage program in which students are encouraged to accept responsibilities and work towards achieving specific goals centered on building the following character traits:
The lessons taught as part of the Six Tasks Program are not only practiced after school, but are extended into the child’s life at home and at school. For example, to learn teamwork, children are expected to perform chores at home in order to earn their merit badge for this task. Children will also learn specific life skills that they can apply to all aspects of their lives. These include:
We also recognize that working parents worry that the time they must spend away from their children could negatively impact their studies. This is why at Premier Fight Center, your child will receive individual attention from our qualified staff to reinforce the lessons learned at school. Children will perform homework and other specific assignments both independently and with staff supervision to ensure that while they learn how to work independently, they are also accountable to someone who is checking that assignments are both complete and performed correctly.
Our after school program also includes arts and crafts instruction, independent reading programs, and some general play time. Our goal is to develop well-rounded children who are not only academically successful and physically fit, but who are also well-adapted, responsible, social human beings who are capable of enjoying all the opportunities of life that we work so hard to give them.
