Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, also known as “The Gentle Art”, teaches the use of leverage, creating an effective self-defense system which protects you and against serious dangerous situations.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu emphasizes the application of leverage and technique to overcome strength and weight. Students are taught escapes from the ground and submission holds such as joint locks and chokes. Learn strategies and techniques for defending against agression and defeating a larger and stronger opponent.
Kid’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Discipline, self-confidence, respect, integrity, teamwork and responsibility are some of the core principles for personal success. These values, however, are rarely taught to children in schools. At Leo Dalla Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu this practice is seen as a means to individual growth, and our Kids Program emphasizes development of character.
The kids Jiu-Jitsu program is designed to:
- Teach a complete self-defense system that will give children a high degree of self-confidence.
- Teach children how to intelligently cope with bullying, peer pressure, and manage conflict.
- Teach positive social values such as respect, honesty, integrity, and dignity.
We offer fun and instructional classes for kids. The kid’s program integrates sport and self-defense techniques with conditioning and skill oriented games aimed at improving your child’s coordination, motor skills, agility and flexibility. We do not only strengthen the body but more importantly the mind. These lessons will:
- Teach children how to set goals, and be responsible for there actions.
- Teach how to approach social interaction, with an emphasis on building leadership qualities
Our beginner’s class provides the student’s with a well-rounded understanding of Jiu-Jitsu and its applications. We work to increase awareness, physical conditioning, flexibility, self confidence and personal effectiveness.
This is a great class for women who are interested on learning self-defense, especialy on those situations where a stranger try to take you to the ground.
Along with the continued development of the applications taught in the beginners classes, the advanced class allows you to train with multiple partners of varied skill levels, providing a more developed understanding of techniques and the fighting process.
No Gi Classes
The No Gi Classes are designed to help develop competitive Jiu-Jitsu techniques designed more for competition/sport. This class is open to all ranks, but a good foundation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique is strongly recommended.
Muay Thai is one of the most practical striking arts taught today. Our Muay Thai program focuses on teaching the fundamental techniques of Muay Thai and Boxing, allowing a student to thoroughly understand the movements before expanding on their newly acquired skills. You will learn not only offensive techniques but defensive as well. We highly stress the importance of learning proper technique in order to reduce the risk of injury and to allow an environment that is both safe and challenging. Whether your training goal is to increase your level of fitness, self-defense, or to compete, anybody can enjoy the benefits from our Muay Thai training sessions.
